Es arquitecto egresado de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, con maestrías en Desarrollo Urbano y Territorial y Educación Superior Universitaria, y actualmente doctorando en Políticas y Administración Pública. Ha trabajado como docente universitario y en planificación urbana, además de coordinar el Laboratorio de Liderazgo e Innovación. Es activista en políticas universitarias y medioambientales y actualmente administra el Palacio Nacional de la Cultura en el Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes.
